Reflective Writing #1

  1. When did you first start programming?

In my freshman year of high school was when I was first introduced to the idea of computer science. In this class, we used Scratch to do our programming. While it was a fun class, I didn’t have any interest at the time to continue taking more computer science classes. I didn’t take another computer science class until last year when I was enrolled in CPSC 110 and then CPSC 220 in the Spring 2021 semester.

2. What is your favorite thing about programming?

My favorite thing about programming is the freedom you have when coding to create many programs that can help you solve problems you might have. The only limit to what you can do is based off of what the coding language allows, and also your personal knowledge of the language and programming in general.

3. What is your least favorite thing about programming?

My least favoritve thing about programming is how even the smallest of errors can cause your program not to run properly. When writing a program that has many lines of code, it is very possible that something as small as a misspelled word or even a missing semicolon can cause the program to either not compile, or not work logically.
